Psalm 103–104
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.f
2 Praise the Lord,g my soul,
and forget noth all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sinsi
and healsj all your diseases,
4 who redeems your lifek from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,l
5 who satisfiesm your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewedn like the eagle’s.o
6 The Lord works righteousnessp
and justice for all the oppressed.q
7 He made knownr his wayss to Moses,
his deedst to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,u
slow to anger, abounding in love.
nor will he harbor his anger forever;v
10 he does not treat us as our sins deservew
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his lovex for those who fear him;y
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressionsz from us.
13 As a father has compassiona on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,b
he remembers that we are dust.c
15 The life of mortals is like grass,d
they flourish like a flowere of the field;
16 the wind blowsf over it and it is gone,
and its placeg remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s childrenh—
18 with those who keep his covenanti
and rememberj to obey his precepts.k
19 The Lord has established his thronel in heaven,
and his kingdom rulesm over all.
20 Praise the Lord,n you his angels,o
you mighty onesp who do his bidding,q
who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,r
you his servantss who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his workst
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.u
1 Praise the Lord, my soul.v
Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.w
2 The Lord wrapsx himself in lighty as with a garment;
he stretchesz out the heavensa like a tentb
3 and lays the beamsc of his upper chambers on their waters.d
He makes the cloudse his chariotf
and rides on the wings of the wind.g
4 He makes winds his messengers,a h
flames of firei his servants.
5 He set the earthj on its foundations;k
it can never be moved.
6 You covered itl with the watery depthsm as with a garment;
the waters stoodn above the mountains.
7 But at your rebukeo the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunderp they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assignedq for them.
9 You set a boundaryr they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.
10 He makes springss pour water into the ravines;
it flows between the mountains.
11 They give watert to all the beasts of the field;
the wild donkeysu quench their thirst.
12 The birds of the skyv nest by the waters;
they sing among the branches.w
13 He waters the mountainsx from his upper chambers;y
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.z
14 He makes grass growa for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth foodb from the earth:
15 winec that gladdens human hearts,
oild to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustainse their hearts.
16 The trees of the Lordf are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanong that he planted.
17 There the birdsh make their nests;
the stork has its home in the junipers.
18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats;i
the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.j
19 He made the moon to mark the seasons,k
and the sunl knows when to go down.
20 You bring darkness,m it becomes night,n
and all the beasts of the foresto prowl.
21 The lions roar for their preyp
and seek their food from God.q
22 The sun rises, and they steal away;
they return and lie down in their dens.r
23 Then people go out to their work,s
to their labor until evening.t
24 How many are your works,u Lord!
In wisdom you madev them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.w
25 There is the sea,x vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.y
26 There the shipsz go to and fro,
and Leviathan,a which you formed to frolicb there.c
to give them their foodd at the proper time.
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfiede with good things.
29 When you hide your face,f
they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.g
30 When you send your Spirit,h
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lordi endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his worksj—
32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,k
who touches the mountains,l and they smoke.m
33 I will singn to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
as I rejoiceo in the Lord.
35 But may sinners vanishp from the earth
and the wicked be no more.q
Praise the Lord, my soul.
