Isaiah 62:1–7

Zion’s New Name

62 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,o

for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,

till her vindicationp shines out like the dawn,q

her salvationr like a blazing torch.

The nationss will see your vindication,

and all kings your glory;

you will be called by a new namet

that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

You will be a crownu of splendor in the Lord’s hand,

a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

No longer will they call you Deserted,v

or name your land Desolate.w

But you will be called Hephzibah,a x

and your land Beulahb;

for the Lord will take delighty in you,

and your land will be married.z

As a young man marries a young woman,

so will your Builder marry you;

as a bridegrooma rejoices over his bride,

so will your God rejoiceb over you.

I have posted watchmenc on your walls, Jerusalem;

they will never be silent day or night.

You who call on the Lord,

give yourselves no rest,d

and give him no reste till he establishes Jerusalem

and makes her the praisef of the earth.
