as with the slave, so with his master;

as with the maid, so with her mistress;

as with the buyer, so with the seller;

as with the lender, so with the borrower;

as with the creditor, so with the debtor.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

And turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;

As with the servant, so with his master;

As with the maid, so with her mistress;

As with the buyer, so with the seller;

As with the lender, so with the borrower;

As with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Look! The Lord is about to destroy the earth

and make it a vast wasteland.

He devastates the surface of the earth

buyers and sellers,

lenders and borrowers,

bankers and debtors—none will be spared.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Distorts its surface

And scatters abroad its inhabitants.

As with the maid, so with her mistress;

As with the buyer, so with the seller;

As with the lender, so with the borrower;

As with the creditor, so with the debtor.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — New Century Version (NCV)

Look! The Lord will destroy the earth and leave it empty;

he will ruin the surface of the land and scatter its people.

At that time the same thing will happen to everyone:

to common people and priests,

to slaves and masters,

to women slaves and their women masters,

to buyers and sellers,

to those who borrow and those who lend,

to bankers and those who owe the bank.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Isaiah 24:1–2 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

lenders and borrowers,

debtors and creditors.

Isaiah 24:1–2 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Sellers and buyers alike will suffer.

So will those who borrow and those who lend.

And so will those who owe money and those who lend it.
