Isaiah 2:7–11 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Their land is filled with silver and gold,

and there is no end to their treasures;

their land is filled with horses,

and there is no end to their chariots.

Their land is filled with idols;

they bow down to the work of their hands,

to what their own fingers have made.

So man is humbled,

and each one is brought low—

do not forgive them!

10 Enter into the rock

and hide in the dust

from before the terror of the Lord,

and from the splendor of his majesty.

11 The haughty looks of man shall be brought low,

and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled,

and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Their land also is full of silver and gold,

Neither is there any end of their treasures;

Their land is also full of horses,

Neither is there any end of their chariots:

Their land also is full of idols;

They worship the work of their own hands,

That which their own fingers have made:

And the mean man boweth down,

And the great man humbleth himself:

Therefore forgive them not.

10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust,

For fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty.

11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,

And the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,

And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Israel is full of silver and gold;

there is no end to its treasures.

Their land is full of warhorses;

there is no end to its chariots.

Their land is full of idols;

the people worship things they have made

with their own hands.

So now they will be humbled,

and all will be brought low—

do not forgive them.

10 Crawl into caves in the rocks.

Hide in the dust

from the terror of the Lord

and the glory of his majesty.

11 Human pride will be brought down,

and human arrogance will be humbled.

Only the Lord will be exalted

on that day of judgment.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Their land is also full of silver and gold,

And there is no end to their treasures;

Their land is also full of horses,

And there is no end to their chariots.

Their land is also full of idols;

They worship the work of their own hands,

That which their own fingers have made.

People bow down,

And each man humbles himself;

Therefore do not forgive them.

10 Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust,

From the terror of the Lord

And the glory of His majesty.

11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,

The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,

And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

Their land has been filled with silver and gold;

there are a great many treasures there.

Their land has been filled with horses;

there are many chariots there.

Their land is full of idols.

The people worship these idols they made with their own hands

and shaped with their own fingers.

People will not be proud any longer

but will bow low with shame.

God, do not forgive them.

10 Go into the caves of the cliffs;

dig holes and hide in the ground

from the anger of the Lord

and from his great power!

11 Proud people will be made humble,

and they will bow low with shame.

At that time only the Lord will still be praised.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots. Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made. And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is brought low: therefore forgive them not. 10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

And their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end of their treasures: their land also is full of horses, and there is no end of their chariots. And their land is full of idols; they bow themselves down to the work of their own hands, to that which their fingers have made. And the mean man shall be bowed down, and the great man shall be brought low: and do not thou forgive them!

10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty eyes of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Their land is filled with silver and gold,

and there is no end to their treasures.

Their land is filled with horses,

and there is no end to their chariots.

Their land is filled with idols,

and they worship what their hands have shaped

and what their fingers have molded.

People will be brought down. Everyone will be humbled.

Do not forgive them.

10 Go in among the rocks and hide underground

because of the Lord’s terrifying presence

and the honor of his majesty.

11 The eyes of arrogant people will be humbled.

High and mighty people will be brought down.

On that day the Lord alone will be honored.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Their land is full of silver and gold,

and there is no limit to their treasures;

their land is full of horses,

and there is no limit to their chariots.

Their land is full of idols;

they bow down to the work of their hands,

to what their fingers have made.

So humanity is brought low,

and man is humbled.

Do not forgive them!

10 Go into the rocks

and hide in the dust

from the terror of the Lord

and from His majestic splendor.

11 Human pride will be humbled,

and the loftiness of men will be brought low;

the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

and there is no end to their treasures;

their land is filled with horses,

and there is no end to their chariots.

Their land is filled with idols;

they bow down to the work of their hands,

to what their own fingers have made.

And so people are humbled,

and everyone is brought low—

do not forgive them!

10 Enter into the rock,

and hide in the dust

from the terror of the Lord,

and from the glory of his majesty.

11 The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low,

and the pride of everyone shall be humbled;

and the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

and there is no end to its treasures;

and its land is filled with horses,

and there is no end to its chariots.

Its land is filled with idols;

they bow down to the work of their hands,

to what they made with their fingers.

So humanity is humbled;

everyone is humbled,

and you must not forgive them.

10 Enter into the rock

and hide yourself in the dust

from the presence of the terror of Yahweh

and from the glory of his majesty.

11 The haughty eyes of humanity will be brought low,

and the pride of everyone will be humbled,

and Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

Their land is full of silver and gold.

There is no end to their treasures.

Their land is full of horses.

There is no end to their chariots.

Their land is full of statues of gods.

They bow down to what their own hands have made.

They bow down to what their fingers have shaped.

So man will be brought low.

People will be put to shame.

Do not forgive them.

10 Go and hide in caves in the rocks, you people!

Hide in holes in the ground.

Hide from the terror of the Lord!

Hide when he comes in glory and majesty!

11 A man who brags will be brought low.

Men who are proud will be put to shame.

The Lord alone will be honored at that time.

Isaiah 2:7–11 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Their land has also been filled with silver and gold

And there is no end to their treasures;

Their land has also been filled with horses

And there is no end to their chariots.

Their land has also been filled with idols;

They worship the work of their hands,

That which their fingers have made.

So the common man has been humbled

And the man of importance has been abased,

But do not forgive them.

10 Enter the rock and hide in the dust

From the terror of the Lord and from the splendor of His majesty.

11 The proud look of man will be abased

And the loftiness of man will be humbled,

And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
