Hebrews 2:7–8 — English Standard Version (ESV)

You made him for a little while lower than the angels;

you have crowned him with glory and honor,

putting everything in subjection under his feet.”

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels

and crowned them with glory and honor.

You gave them authority over all things.”

Now when it says “all things,” it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

You have made him a little lower than the angels;

You have crowned him with glory and honor,

And set him over the works of Your hands.

You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — New Century Version (NCV)

You made them a little lower than the angels

and crowned them with glory and honor.

You put all things under their control.”

When God put everything under their control, there was nothing left that they did not rule. Still, we do not yet see them ruling over everything.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels;

Thou crownedst him with glory and honor,

And didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Thou didst put all things in subjection under his feet.

For in that he subjected all things unto him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Thou hast made him some little inferior to the angels; thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, and hast set him over the works of thy hands; thou hast subjected all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he has left nothing unsubject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him,

Hebrews 2:7–8 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

You made him a little lower than the angels.

You crowned him with glory and honor.

You put everything under his control.”

When God put everything under his Son’s control, nothing was left out.

However, at the present time we still don’t see everything under his Son’s control.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

You made him lower than the angels

for a short time;

You crowned him with glory and honor

and subjected everything under his feet.

For in subjecting everything to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. As it is, we do not yet see everything subjected to him.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

You have made them for a little while lower than the angels;

you have crowned them with glory and honor,

subjecting all things under their feet.”

Now in subjecting all things to them, God left nothing outside their control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to them,

Hebrews 2:7–8 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

You made him for a short time lower than the angels;

you crowned him with glory and honor;

you subjected all things under his feet.

For in subjecting all things, he left nothing that was not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him,

Hebrews 2:7–8 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

You made him a little lower than the angels.

You placed on him a crown of glory and honor.

You have put everything under his control.”

So God has put everything under him. Everything is under his control.

We do not now see everything under his control.

Hebrews 2:7–8 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

You have made him for a little while lower than the angels;

You have crowned him with glory and honor,

And have appointed him over the works of Your hands;

You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
