48 the God who gave me vengeance

and brought down peoples under me,

48 It is God that avengeth me, And that bringeth down the people under me,

48 He is the God who pays back those who harm me;

he brings down the nations under me

48 It is God who avenges me,

And subdues the peoples under me;

48 God gives me victory over my enemies

and brings people under my rule.

48 Even the God that executeth vengeance for me,

And that bringeth down peoples under me,

48 The •God who hath avenged me, And hath brought the peoples under me.

48 God gives me vengeance! 

He brings people under my authority.

48 He is the God who pays my enemies back.

He brings the nations under my control.

48 The God who executes vengeance for me,
