2 Corinthians 12:15–16

15 I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16 But granting that I myself did not burden you, I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you by deceit.

15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. 16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

15 I will gladly spend myself and all I have for you, even though it seems that the more I love you, the less you love me.

16 Some of you admit I was not a burden to you. But others still think I was sneaky and took advantage of you by trickery.

15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.

16 But be that as it may, I did not burden you. Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you by cunning!

15 So I am happy to give everything I have for you, even myself. If I love you more, will you love me less?

16 It is clear I was not a burden to you, but you think I was tricky and lied to catch you.

15 And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less? 16 But be it so, I did not myself burden you; but, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

15 Now I shall most gladly spend and be utterly spent for your souls, if even in abundantly loving you I should be less loved. 16 But be it so. I did not burden you, but being crafty I took you by guile.

15 I will be very glad to spend whatever I have. I’ll even give myself for you. Do you love me less because I love you so much? 

16 You agree, then, that I haven’t been a burden to you. Was I a clever person who trapped you by some trick?

15 I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16 Now granted, I have not burdened you; yet sly as I am, I took you in by deceit!

15 I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less? 16 Be that as it may, I did not burden you. But, crafty person that I am, did I take you in by deceit?

15 But I will spend and be expended most gladly for your lives. If I love you much more, am I to be loved less? 16 But let it be. I have not been a burden to you, but because I was crafty, I took you by cunning.

15 So I will be very happy to spend everything I have for you. I will even spend myself. If I love you more, will you love me less?

16 In any case, I haven’t caused you any expense. But I’m such a tricky fellow! I have caught you by tricking you!

16 But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself; nevertheless, crafty fellow that I am, I took you in by deceit.
