1 Timothy 1:17–19
17 Now to the Kingj eternal, immortal,k invisible,l the only God,m be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.n
18 Timothy, my son,o I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you,p so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,q 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience,r which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.s

18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,

For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.

18 My son Timothy, I give you these teachings. They are in keeping with the prophecies that were once made about you. By following them, you can fight the good fight. 19 Then you will hold on to faith. You will hold on to a good sense of what is right and wrong.
Some have not accepted these teachings. By doing that, they have destroyed their faith. They are like a ship that has sunk.
