Titus 1:5

The Work of Titus on Crete

5I left you on the island of Crete. There were some things that hadn’t been finished. You needed to sort them out. You also had to appoint elders in every town. I told you how to do it.

Titus 1:5 — The New International Version (NIV)

The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.

Titus 1:5 — English Standard Version (ESV)

This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you—
