6“I am like the gently flowing stream of Siloam.

But the people of Judah have turned their backs on me.

They are filled with joy because of the fall of Rezin

and the son of Remaliah.

7So I am about to bring against these people

the king of Assyria and his whole army.

The Assyrians will be like the mighty Euphrates River

when it is flooding.

They will run over everything in their path.

“Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that flow gently, and rejoice over Rezin and the son of Remaliah, therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks,

run over all its banks

CSBChristian Standard Bible

Because these people rejected

the slowly flowing water of Shiloah

and rejoiced with Rezin

and the son of Remaliah,

the Lord will certainly bring against them

the mighty rushing water of the Euphrates River—

the king of Assyria and all his glory.

It will overflow its channels

and spill over all its banks.

NLTNew Living Translation

“My care for the people of Judah is like the gently flowing waters of Shiloah, but they have rejected it. They are rejoicing over what will happen to King Rezin and King Pekah. Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River—the king of Assyria and all his glory. This flood will overflow all its channels

LEBThe Lexham English Bible

“Because this people has refused the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and rejoices over Rezin and the son of Remaliah, therefore look! The Lord is bringing up the waters of the great and mighty river against them, the king of Assyria and all his glory.

And he will rise above all his channels,

and he will flow over all his banks.

KJV 1900King James Version

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly,

And rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them

The waters of the river, strong and many,

Even the king of Assyria, and all his glory:

And he shall come up over all his channels,

And go over all his banks:
