You play new songs on musical instruments.

“Woe to those who lie on beds of ivory

and stretch themselves out on their couches,

How terrible for you who sprawl on ivory beds

You sing trivial songs to the sound of the harp

and fancy yourselves to be great musicians like David.

LEBThe Lexham English Bible

Alas for those who lie on beds of ivory and lounge on their couches, and those eating young rams from the sheep and goats, and bull-calves from the middle of the animal stall. Alas for those who sing to the tune of the harp; like David they improvise on instruments of music.

And stretch themselves upon their couches,

And eat the lambs out of the flock,

And the calves out of the midst of the stall;

That chant to the sound of the viol,

And invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
