Psalm 96:11–12: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy …

Footnotes

  1. 10 The verbal forms in v. 13 probably describe God’s typical, characteristic behavior, though they may depict in dramatic fashion the outworking of divine judgment or anticipate a future judgment of worldwide proportions, in which case they could be translated “will judge the world.”
  2. 11 Heb “and the nations with his integrity.”

The world also shall be established that it shall not be moved:

He shall judge the people righteously.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein:

For he cometh to judge the earth:

He shall judge the world with righteousness,

And the people with his truth.
