7:12When the time comes for you to die,21 I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you,22 and I will establish his kingdom. 7:13He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.237:14I will become his father and he will become my son. When he sins, I will correct him with the rod of men and with wounds inflicted by human beings. 7:15But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 7:16Your house and your kingdom will stand before me24 permanently; your dynasty25 will be permanent.’ ”
Footnotes
- 21 Heb, “when your days are full and you lie down with your ancestors.”
- 22 Heb “your seed after you who comes out from your insides.”
- 23 Heb “and I will establish the throne of his kingdom permanently.”
- 24 Heb “before you.” A few medieval Hebrew read instead “before me,” which makes better sense contextually. (See also the and the .) The reading is probably the result of dittography (note the ך [kaf] at the beginning of the next form), with the extra ך then being interpreted as a pronominal suffix.
- 25 Heb “throne.”

When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.’ ”

NIVNew International Version (2011)
When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’ ”

NLTNew Living Translation
For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong. He is the one who will build a house—a temple—for my name. And I will secure his royal throne forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do. But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.’ ”

KJV 1900King James Version
And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
