11“Say to Judah’s royal family: ‘Hear the word of the Lord. 12Family of David, this is what the Lord says:

You must judge people fairly every morning.

Save the person who has been robbed

from the power of his attacker.

If you don’t, I will become very angry.

My anger will be like a fire that no one can put out,

because you have done evil things.

13“ ‘Jerusalem, I am against you,

you who live on top of the mountain

over this valley, says the Lord.

You say, “No one can attack us

or come into our strong city.”

14But I will give you the punishment you deserve, says the Lord.

I will start a fire in your forests

that will burn up everything around you!’ ”

“And to the house of the king of Judah say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O house of David! Thus says the Lord:

“ ‘Execute justice in the morning,

and deliver from the hand of the oppressor

him who has been robbed,

lest my wrath go forth like fire,

and burn with none to quench it,

because of your evil deeds.’ ”

“Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley,

O rock of the plain,

declares the Lord;

you who say, ‘Who shall come down against us,

or who shall enter our habitations?’

I will punish you according to the fruit of your deeds,

declares the Lord;

I will kindle a fire in her forest,

and it shall devour all that is around her.”

NIVNew International Version (2011)

“Moreover, say to the royal house of Judah, ‘Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Lord says to you, house of David:

“ ‘Administer justice every morning;

rescue from the hand of the oppressor

the one who has been robbed,

or my wrath will break out and burn like fire

because of the evil you have done—

burn with no one to quench it.

I am against you, Jerusalem,

you who live above this valley

on the rocky plateau, declares the Lord—

you who say, “Who can come against us?

Who can enter our refuge?”

I will punish you as your deeds deserve,

declares the Lord.

I will kindle a fire in your forests

that will consume everything around you.’ ”

CSBChristian Standard Bible

“And to the house of the king of Judah say this: ‘Hear the word of the Lord! House of David, this is what the Lord says:

Administer justice every morning,

and rescue the victim of robbery

from his oppressor,

or my anger will flare up like fire

and burn unquenchably

because of your evil deeds.

Beware! I am against you,

you who sit above the valley,

you atop the rocky plateau—

this is the Lord’s declaration—

you who say, “Who can come down against us?

Who can enter our hiding places?”

I will punish you according to what you have done—

this is the Lord’s declaration.

I will kindle a fire in your forest

that will consume everything around it.’ ”

NLTNew Living Translation

“Say to the royal family of Judah, ‘Listen to this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord says to the dynasty of David:

“ ‘Give justice each morning to the people you judge!

Help those who have been robbed;

rescue them from their oppressors.

Otherwise, my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire

because of all your sins.

I will personally fight against the people in Jerusalem,

that mighty fortress—

the people who boast, “No one can touch us here.

No one can break in here.”

And I myself will punish you for your sinfulness,

says the Lord.

I will light a fire in your forests

that will burn up everything around you.’ ”

LEBThe Lexham English Bible

“And to the house of the king of Judah, ‘Hear the word of Yahweh, O house of David, thus says Yahweh,

“Execute judgment in the morning, justice,

and deliver the one who has been seized

from the hand of the oppressor,

lest my wrath goes forth like the fire and it burns,

and there is no one who quenches it

because of the evil of your deeds.

Look, I am against you,

O inhabitants of the valley,

O rock of the plain,” declares Yahweh;

“you who say, ‘Who can descend against us,

or who can enter into our hiding place?’

And I will punish you

according to the fruit of your deeds,” declares Yahweh,

“And I will kindle a fire in its forest,

and it will devour all its surroundings.” ’ ”

KJV 1900King James Version

And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the Lord; O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the Lord; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations? But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.
