Ezekiel 30:18–20

18 Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes

when I break the yoke of Egypt;

there her proud strength will come to an end.

She will be covered with clouds,

and her villages will go into captivity.

19 So I will inflict punishment on Egypt,

and they will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

20 In the eleventh year, in the first month on the seventh day, the word of the Lord came to me:

18 At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark,

when I break there the yoke bars of Egypt,

and her proud might shall come to an end in her;

she shall be covered by a cloud,

and her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

20 In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:

18 At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

18 When I come to break the proud strength of Egypt,

it will be a dark day for Tahpanhes, too.

A dark cloud will cover Tahpanhes,

and its daughters will be led away as captives.

19 And so I will greatly punish Egypt,

and they will know that I am the Lord.”

20 On April 29, during the eleventh year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, this message came to me from the Lord:

18 At Tehaphnehes the day shall also be darkened,

When I break the yokes of Egypt there.

And her arrogant strength shall cease in her;

As for her, a cloud shall cover her,

And her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt,

Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

18 At Tehaphnehes also the day shall withdraw itself, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19 Thus will I execute judgments upon Egypt; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

18 And at Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened, when I break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

18 At Tahpanhes the day will turn dark when I break Egypt’s power. Egypt’s strong army will be defeated. Clouds will cover Egypt, and people from its villages will go into exile. 19 Then they will know that I am the Lord, because I will bring punishment on Egypt.’ ” 

20 On the seventh day of the first month in the eleventh year, the Lord spoke his word to me. He said,

18 The day will be dark in Tehaphnehes,

when I break the yoke of Egypt there

and its proud strength

comes to an end in the city.

A cloud will cover Tehaphnehes,

and its villages will go into captivity.

19 So I will execute judgments against Egypt,

and they will know that I am Yahweh.

20 In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:

18 At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark,

when I break there the dominion of Egypt,

and its proud might shall come to an end;

the city shall be covered by a cloud,

and its daughter towns shall go into captivity.

19 Thus I will execute acts of judgment on Egypt.

Then they shall know that I am the Lord.

20 In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:

18 And at Tahpanhes the day will become dark

when I break the yoke of Egypt,

and in it the majesty of its strength

will come to an end.

A cloud will cover it,

and its daughters will go into captivity.

19 And I will execute judgments in Egypt,

and they will know that I am Yahweh.”

20 And then in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

18 I will break Egypt’s power over other lands.

That will be a dark day for Tahpanhes.

There the strength Egypt was so proud of

will come to an end.

Egypt will be covered with clouds.

The people in its villages

will be taken away as prisoners.

19 So I will punish Egypt.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

20 It was the 11th year since King Jehoiachin had been brought to Babylon as a prisoner. On the seventh day of the first month, a message came to me from the Lord. He said,

18 “In Tehaphnehes the day will be dark

When I break there the yoke bars of Egypt.

Then the pride of her power will cease in her;

A cloud will cover her,

And her daughters will go into captivity.

19 “Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt,

And they will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
