Pero Rut le respondió: «No insistas en que te deje o que deje de seguirte; porque adonde tú vayas, yo iré, y donde tú mores, moraré. Tu pueblo será mi pueblo, y tu Dios mi Dios.
»Donde tú mueras, allí moriré, y allí seré sepultada. Así haga el Señor conmigo, y aún peor1a, si algo, excepto la muerte, nos separa».
