Luke 22:35–41

35 And He said to them, aWhen I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.”

36 And He said to them, But now, 1whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and 1whoever has no sword is to sell his 2coat and buy one.

37 For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me,aAnd He was numbered with transgressors’; for bthat which refers to Me has its 1fulfillment.”

38 They said, “Lord, look, here are two aswords.” And He said to them, It is enough.”

Luke 22:35–41 — The New International Version (NIV)

35 Then Jesus asked them, When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”

“Nothing,” they answered.

36 He said to them, But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37 It is written:And he was numbered with the transgressors; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”

38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”
