Jeremiah Warns against Trust in Pharaoh

1 Now aZedekiah the son of Josiah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had bmade king in the land of Judah, reigned as king in place of cConiah the son of Jehoiakim.

2 But aneither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord which He spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

Jeremiah 37:1–2 — The New International Version (NIV)

Zedekiah son of Josiah was made king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he reigned in place of Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim. Neither he nor his attendants nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.
