Judges 13:20–21

20 For it came about when the flame went up from the altar toward heaven, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they afell on their faces to the ground.

21 Now the angel of the Lord did not appear to Manoah or his wife again. aThen Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord.

Judges 13:20–21 — The New International Version (NIV)

20 As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground. 21 When the angel of the Lord did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the Lord.
