2 Kings 17:24–25

Cities of Israel Filled with Strangers

24 aThe king of Assyria brought men from Babylon and from Cuthah and from 1bAvva and from cHamath and Sephar-vaim, and settled them in the cities of Samaria in place of the sons of Israel. So they possessed Samaria and lived in its cities.

25 At the beginning of their living there, they adid not fear the Lord; therefore the Lord sent lions among them which killed some of them.

2 Kings 17:24–25 — The New International Version (NIV)

24 The king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Kuthah, Avva, Hamath and Sepharvaim and settled them in the towns of Samaria to replace the Israelites. They took over Samaria and lived in its towns. 25 When they first lived there, they did not worship the Lord; so he sent lions among them and they killed some of the people.
