John 14:7–16

Oneness with the Father

⁷“^aIf you have come to know Me, you will know My Father also; from now on you ^bknow Him, and have ^cseen Him.”

^8aPhilip ^*said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”

⁹Jesus ^*said to him, “Have I been with you all so long and have you not come to know Me, Philip? ^aHe who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

¹⁰“Do you not believe that ^aI am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? ^bThe words that I say to you I do not speak from Myself, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

¹¹“Believe Me that ^aI am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise ^bbelieve because of the works themselves.

¹²“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and ^agreater works than these he will do because ^bI go to the Father.

¹³“^aWhatever you ask in My name, this will I do, so that ^bthe Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹⁴“If you ask Me anything ^ain My name, I will do it.

¹⁵“^aIf you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

¹⁶“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another ^1aAdvocate, that He may be with you forever;
