Luke 22:60–61
60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about!” And immediately, while* he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. 61 And the Lord turned around and* looked intently at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord,l how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”
* | Here “while” is supplied as a component of the temporal genitive absolute participle (“was speaking”) |
* | Here “and” is supplied because the previous participle (“turned around”) has been translated as a finite verb |
