17 “Edom will become an object of horror;

all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff

because of all its wounds.

17 “Edom shall become a horror. Everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters.

17 Also Edom shall be a desolation:

Every one that goeth by it shall be astonished,

And shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

17 “Edom will be an object of horror.

All who pass by will be appalled

and will gasp at the destruction they see there.

17 “Edom also shall be an astonishment;

Everyone who goes by it will be astonished

And will hiss at all its plagues.

17 “Edom will be destroyed.

People who pass by will be shocked to see the destroyed cities,

and they will be amazed at all her injuries.
