Joshua 9:15–16

15 And Joshua made peace with them, and he made a covenant with thems to allow them to live happily, and the leaders of the congregation swore an oath to them.

16 And it happened that at the end of three days, after they made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighborst and living among them.

Joshua 9:15–16 — The New International Version (NIV)

15 Then Joshua made a treaty of peace with them to let them live, and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath.

16 Three days after they made the treaty with the Gibeonites, the Israelites heard that they were neighbors, living near them.
