Judges 11:3–5

So Jephthah fled from the presence of his brothers, and he lived in the land of Tob. And outlawsb gathered around Jephthah and went with him.

After a time the Ammonitesc made war with Israel. When the Ammonitesd made war with Israel, the elders of Gilead went to bring Jephthah from the land of Tob.

So Jephthah fled from his brothers and settled in the land of Tob, where a gang of scoundrels gathered around him and followed him.

Some time later, when the Ammonites were fighting against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob.
