1 Chronicles 4:38–40

38 These mentioned by namea were leaders in their families, and their fathers’ households increased greatly. 39 And they went to the entrance of Gedor, up to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks. 40 And they found fertile and good pasture, and the land was very broad, quiet, and at ease, for the former inhabitants there were from Ham.

1 Chronicles 4:38–40 — The New International Version (NIV)

38 The men listed above by name were leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly, 39 and they went to the outskirts of Gedor to the east of the valley in search of pasture for their flocks. 40 They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet. Some Hamites had lived there formerly.
