Romans 4:6–8 — The New International Version (NIV)

David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those

whose transgressions are forgiven,

whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the one

whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Romans 4:6–8 — English Standard Version (ESV)

just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,

and whose sins are covered;

blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”

Romans 4:6–8 — New Living Translation (NLT)

David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it:

“Oh, what joy for those

whose disobedience is forgiven,

whose sins are put out of sight.

Yes, what joy for those

whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”

Romans 4:6–8 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,

And whose sins are covered;

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Romans 4:6–8 — New Century Version (NCV)

David said the same thing. He said that people are truly blessed when God, without paying attention to their deeds, makes people right with himself.

“Blessed are they

whose sins are forgiven,

whose wrongs are pardoned.

Blessed is the person

whom the Lord does not consider guilty.”

Romans 4:6–8 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Even as David also pronounceth blessing upon the man, unto whom God reckoneth righteousness apart from works, saying,

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,

And whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin.

Romans 4:6–8 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Even as David also declares the blessedness of the man to whom God reckons righteousness without works: Blessed they whose lawlessnesses have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered: blessed the man to whom the Lord shall not at all reckon sin.

Romans 4:6–8 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

David says the same thing about those who are blessed: God approves of people without their earning it. David said,

“Blessed are those whose disobedience is forgiven

and whose sins are pardoned.

Blessed is the person whom the Lord no longer considers sinful.”

Romans 4:6–8 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Likewise, David also speaks of the blessing of the man God credits righteousness to apart from works:

How joyful are those whose lawless acts are forgiven

and whose sins are covered!

How joyful is the man

the Lord will never charge with sin!

Romans 4:6–8 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

So also David speaks of the blessedness of those to whom God reckons righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven,

and whose sins are covered;

blessed is the one against whom the Lord will not reckon sin.”

Romans 4:6–8 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

just as David also speaks about the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are they whose lawless deeds have been forgiven,

and whose sins are covered over.

Blessed is the person against whom the Lord will never count sin.”

Romans 4:6–8 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

King David says the same thing. He tells us how blessed some people are. God makes those people right with himself. But they don’t have to do anything in return. David says,

“Blessed are those

whose lawless acts are forgiven.

Blessed are those

whose sins are taken away.

Blessed is the man

whose sin the Lord never counts against him.”

Romans 4:6–8 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven,

And whose sins have been covered.

Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.”
