Revelation 8–11
8 And awhen he had opened bthe seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
2 And I saw cthe seven angels dwhich stood before God; and to them were given seven etrumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having fa golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should ||offer it with gthe prayers of all saints upon hthe golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came gwith the prayers of the saints, iascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 And the angel took fthe censer, and kfilled it with fire of hthe altar, and cast it ||jinto the earth: and there were lvoices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and man earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed nohail and nfire mingled with blood, and they were cast pupon the earth: and ppthe third part of qrtrees was burnt up, and all qgreen grass was burnt up.
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were sa great mountain burning with fire was cast jtinto the sea: and the third part of tthe sea ubecame blood; 9 And the third part of tthe creatures which were in the sea, tand had life, died; and the third part of vthe ships were destroyed.
10 And wthe third angel sounded, and xthere fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were ya lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the zrivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called aWormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, bbecause they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of cthe sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. 13 And I beheld, and heard dan angel deflying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, fWoe, woe, gwoe, to ghthe inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
9 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw aa star bfall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given cthe key of dthe bottomless pit. 2 And he opened dthe bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of ea great furnace; and fthe sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke glocusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as hthe scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them ithat they should not hurt kthe grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not lthe seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented mfive months: and their torment was as the torment of ha scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6 And in those days nshall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And othe shapes of gthe locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were pcrowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces qof men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and rtheir teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was sas the sound of chariots of many horses running tto battle. 10 And they had tails like unto hscorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men mfive months. 11 And they had ua king over them, which is athe angel of dthe bottomless pit, whose name vin the Hebrew tongue is wAbaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name ||xApollyon. 12 yOne woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from zthe four horns of athe golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose bthe four angels which are bound in cthe great river Euphrates. 15 And bthe four angels were loosed, which were prepared ||for dan hour, and efa day, and ga month, and fa year, for to slay ffthe third part of men. 16 And hthe number of the army iof the horsemen were htwo hundred thousand thousand: kand I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and lof jacinth, and brimstone: and mthe heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued nfire and smoke and brimstone. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, nby the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet nnrepented not of othe works of their hands, that they should not worship pdevils, and qidols rsof gold, and rssilver, and sbrass, and sstone, and sof wood: rswhich neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21 Neither repented they of their tmurders, nor of their tusorceries, nor of their tvfornication, nor of their thefts.
10 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, aclothed with a cloud: and ba rainbow was upon his head, and chis face was as it were the sun, and dhis feet as epillars of fire: 2 And fhe had in his hand a little book open: and ghe set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, 3 And cried with a loud voice, as when ha lion iroareth: and when he had cried, seven jthunders uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and kI heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, lSeal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and llwrite them not. 5 And the angel which I saw gstand upon the sea and upon the earth mlifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And msware by nhim that liveth for ever and ever, owho created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, pthat there should be time no longer: 7 But qin the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, qqthe mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And kthe voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take fthe little book which is open in the hand of the angel gwhich standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and reat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and sate it up; and tit was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, umy belly was bitter. 11 And he said unto me, vThou must prophesy again before many wpeoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
11 And there was given me aa reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and bthe altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But cthe dcourt which is without the temple †leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto ethe Gentiles: and fthe holy city shall they etread under foot gforty and two months. 3 And ||I will give power unto my two hwitnesses, and hthey shall prophesy gia thousand two hundred and threescore days, kclothed in sackcloth. 4 These are lthe two olive trees, and mthe two candlesticks nstanding before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, ofire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, phe must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power qto shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters rto turn them to blood, and sto smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their ttestimony, uthe beast that ascendeth out of vthe bottomless pit wshall make war against them, and wshall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their xdead bodies shall lie in the street of ythe great city, which spiritually is called zSodom and aEgypt, bwhere also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of cthe people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their xdead bodies three days and an half, and dshall not suffer their xdead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And ethey that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and fshall send gifts one to another; because gthese two prophets htormented ethem that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after ithree days and an half kthe Spirit of life from God entered into them, and lthey stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, mCome up hither. And nthey ascended up to heaven oin a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same hour pwas there a great earthquake, and qthe tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain †of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and rgave glory to sthe God of heaven. 14 tThe second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
15 And uthe seventh angel sounded; and vthere were great voices in heaven, saying, wThe kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of xhis Christ; and yhe shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And zthe four and twenty elders, which sat before God zon their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God aAlmighty, bwhich art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and chast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and dthy wrath is come, and ethe time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest
