The Lord looks down from heaven

on all mankind

to see if there are any who understand,

any who seek God.

there is no one who does good,

not even one.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;

they never call on the Lord.

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,

to see if there are any who understand,

who seek after God.

They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;

there is none who does good,

not even one.

Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers

who eat up my people as they eat bread

and do not call upon the Lord?

Psalm 14:2–4 — New Living Translation (NLT)

The Lord looks down from heaven

on the entire human race;

he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,

if anyone seeks God.

But no, all have turned away;

all have become corrupt.

No one does good,

not a single one!

Will those who do evil never learn?

They eat up my people like bread

and wouldn’t think of praying to the Lord.

Psalm 14:2–4 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,

To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

There is none who does good,

No, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,

Who eat up my people as they eat bread,

And do not call on the Lord?

Psalm 14:2–4 — New Century Version (NCV)

The Lord looked down from heaven on all people

to see if anyone understood,

if anyone was looking to God for help.

But all have turned away.

There is no one who does anything good,

not even one.

Don’t the wicked understand?

They destroy my people as if they were eating bread.

They do not ask the Lord for help.

Psalm 14:2–4 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men,

To see if there were any that did understand,

That did seek after God.

There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,

Who eat up my people as they eat bread,

And call not upon Jehovah?

Psalm 14:2–4 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people as they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah.

Psalm 14:2–4 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

The Lord looks down from heaven on Adam’s descendants

to see if there is anyone who acts wisely,

if there is anyone who seeks help from God.

Everyone has turned away.

Together they have become rotten to the core.

No one, not even one person, does good things.

Are all those troublemakers,

those who devour my people as if they were devouring food,

so ignorant that they do not call on the Lord

Psalm 14:2–4 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race

to see if there is one who is wise,

one who seeks God.

They consume My people as they consume bread;

they do not call on the Lord.

Psalm 14:2–4 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Psalm 14:2–4 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Yahweh looks down from heaven upon the children of humankind

to see whether there is one who has insight,

one who cares about God.

All have gone astray;

there is not even one.

All who do evil—do they not know,

they who eat my people as though they were eating bread?

They do not call on Yahweh.

Psalm 14:2–4 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

The Lord looks down from heaven

on all people.

He wants to see if there are any who understand.

He wants to see if there are any who trust in God.

All of them have turned away.

They have all become evil.

No one does anything good,

no one at all.

Won’t those who do evil ever learn?

They eat up my people as if they were eating bread.

They don’t call out to the Lord for help.

Psalm 14:2–4 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men

To see if there are any who understand,

Who seek after God.

They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt;

There is no one who does good, not even one.

Do all the workers of wickedness not know,

Who eat up my people as they eat bread,

And do not call upon the Lord?
