Psalm 90–91
||A Prayer *of Moses the man of God. 1 Lord, athou hast been our dwelling place †in all generations. 2 bBefore cthe mountains were dbrought forth, Or ever thou hadst bdformed ethe earth and the world, fEven from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. 3 Thou gturnest man to destruction; And sayest, Return, ye children of men. 4 For ha thousand years in thy sight iAre but as yesterday ||when it is past, And as a watch in the night. 5 Thou kcarriest them away as with a flood; lthey are as a sleep: In the morning they are mnlike grass which ||ogroweth up. 6 pIn the morning it nqflourisheth, and ogroweth up; pIn the evening it is mqcut down, and withereth. 7 For we are consumed by thine anger, And by thy wrath are we troubled. 8 rThou hast set our iniquities before thee, sOur secret sins in the light of thy countenance. 9 For all our days are †passed away in thy wrath: We spend our years ||as a tale that is told. 10 †tThe days of our years are threescore years and ten; And if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, Yet is their strength labour and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? Even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. 12 uSo teach us to number our days, That we may †apply our hearts unto wisdom. 13 wReturn, O Lord, xhow long? And let it yrepent thee concerning thy servants. 14 O satisfy us zearly with thy mercy; That awe may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to bthe days wherein thou hast afflicted us, And bthe years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let cthy work appear unto thy servants, And thy glory unto their children. 17 And let dthe beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: And establish thou ethe work of our hands upon us; Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
1 He that dwelleth in athe secret place of the most High Shall †abide bunder the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my crefuge and dmy fortress: My God; ein him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall fdeliver thee from gthe snare of the fowler, And from the hnoisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his ifeathers, And kunder his biwings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy lshield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid mfor the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in ndarkness; Nor for the odestruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold And oosee the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my crefuge, Even the most High, thy phabitation; 10 qThere shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any rplague come nigh thy sdwelling. 11 tFor he shall give uhis angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou xdash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the ylion and ||adder: The young lion and the zdragon shalt thou atrample under feet. 14 bBecause he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will cset him on high, because he hath dknown my name. 15 He shall ecall upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; fI will deliver him, and fghonour him. 16 hWith †long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.
