Psalm 61:1–64:10
aAttend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart bis overwhelmed:
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For thou hast been a cshelter for me,
And da strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will eabide in thy tabernacle for ever:
I will ||ftrust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows:
Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
6 g†Thou wilt prolong hthe king’s life:
And his years †as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God for ever:
O prepare imercy and truth, which may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever,
That I may daily jperform my vows.
*To the chief Musician, to *Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.
1 ||Truly amy soul †waiteth upon God:
From him cometh my salvation.
2 bHe only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my †defence; cI shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man?
Ye shall be slain all of you:
dAs a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his eexcellency:
They delight in lies:
fThey bless with their mouth, but they curse †inwardly. Selah.
5 gMy soul, wait thou only upon God;
For my expectation is from him.
6 hHe only is my rock and my salvation:
He is my defence; cI shall not be moved.
7 iIn God is my salvation and my glory:
The rock of my strength, and my krefuge, is in God.
8 lTrust in him at all times; ye people,
mPour out your heart before him:
God is ka refuge for us. Selah.
9 nSurely omen of low degree are npvanity, and omen of high degree are qa lie:
To be laid in the balance, rthey are ||altogether lighter than npvanity.
And rrbecome not vain in robbery:
sIf riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken tonce;
tTwice have I heard this;
That u||power belongeth unto God.
12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth xmercy:
For ythou renderest to every man according to his work.
A Psalm of David, *when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
1 O God, thou art my God; aearly will I seek thee:
bMy soul thirsteth for thee,
bMy flesh longeth for thee
In a cdry and †thirsty land, †where no water is;
2 To see ccthy power and thy glory,
So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because dthy lovingkindness is ebetter than life,
My lips shall praise thee.
4 Thus will I bless thee fwhile I live:
I gwill lift up my hands in thy name.
5 hMy soul shall be satisfied as with †marrow and fatness;
And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When iI remember thee upon my bed,
And meditate on thee in jthe night watches.
7 Because thou hast been kmy help,
Therefore lin the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee:
Thy right hand mupholdeth me.
9 nBut those that seek my soul, to destroy it,
Shall go into othe lower parts of the earth.
10 †They shall fall by the sword:
They shall be a portion for foxes.
11 But pthe king shall rejoice in God;
Every one that qsweareth by him shall glory:
But rthe mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1 Hear my voice, O God, in my aprayer:
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from bthe secret counsel of the wicked;
From bthe insurrection of bbthe workers of iniquity:
3 cWho whet their tongue like a sword,
And dbend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
4 eThat they may shoot fin secret at the perfect:
Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fffear not.
5 gThey encourage themselves in an evil ||matter:
They commune †of laying snares privily;
hThey say, Who shall see them?
||They accomplish †a diligent search:
Both ithe inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
7 But God dshall shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly †shall they be wounded.
8 So they shall make ktheir own tongue to fall upon themselves:
lAll that msee them shall mmflee away.
9 And all men shall mfear,
And shall ndeclare the work of God;
For they shall owisely consider of his doing.
10 pThe righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and qshall trust in him;
