Psalm 144:1–150:6

Blessed be the Lord my strength,

aWhich teacheth my hands to war,

And my fingers ato fight:

b||My goodness, and cmy fortress; dmy high tower, and my deliverer;

bMy shield, and he in whom I trust;

Who esubdueth my people under me.

fLord, what is man, that thou gTakest knowledge of him!

Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

hMan is like to vanity:

His days are as ia shadow that passeth away.

kBow thy heavens, O Lord, and come down:

lTouch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

Cast forth mlightning, and scatter them:

mShoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

nSend thine hand ofrom above;

pRid me, and deliver me nout of great waters,

From the hand of qstrange children;

Whose mouth rspeaketh vanity,

And their right hand is sa right hand of falsehood.

I will tsing a new song unto thee, O God:

Upon ua psaltery wand uan instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

10  It is he xthat giveth ||salvation unto kings:

Who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

11  yRid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children,

zWhose mouth speaketh vanity,

And their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

12  That our sons may be aas plants grown up in their youth;

That our daughters may be as bcorner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

13  That our garners may be full, caffording all manner of store:

That our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our estreets:

14  That our oxen may be strong to labour;

That there be no fbreaking in, nor ggoing out;

That there be no hcomplaining in our streets.

15  iHappy is that people, that is in such a case:

Yea, khappy is that people, whose God is the Lord.

And I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

bGreat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

And his greatness is unsearchable.

cOne generation shall praise thy works to another,

And shall declare thy nmighty acts.

I will dspeak of ethe glorious honour of thy majesty,

And of thy wondrous works.

And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts:

And I will declare thy greatness.

They shall fabundantly utter the memory of thy ggreat goodness,

And shall sing of thy righteousness.

hThe Lord is gracious, and full of compassion;

Slow to anger, and of great mercy.

iThe Lord is good to all:

And his tender mercies are over all his works.

10  kAll thy works shall praise thee, O Lord;

And lthy saints shall bless thee.

11  They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom,

And talk of thy power;

12  mTo make known to the sons of men his nmighty acts,

And othe glorious majesty of his kingdom.

13  pThy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

And thy dominion endureth qthroughout all generations.

14  rThe Lord upholdeth all that fall,

And sraiseth up all those that be stbowed down.

15  The eyes of all ||wait upon thee;

And uthou givest them their meat vin due season.

16  wThou openest thine hand,

And xsatisfiest the desire of every living thing.

17  yThe Lord is righteous in all his ways,

And ||zholy in all his works.

18  aThe Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,

To all that call upon him bin truth.

19  cHe will fulfil the desire of them that fear him:

He also dwill hear their cry, and will save them.

20  The Lord epreserveth all them that dlove him:

But all the wicked will he destroy.

21  My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord:

And flet all flesh bless his holy name gfor ever and ever.

Whose ihope is in the Lord his God:

klWhich made heaven, and earth,

lThe sea, and all that therein is:

Which keepeth truth for ever:

mWhich executeth judgment for the oppressed:

16  He giveth fsnow like wool:

He gscattereth the hhoarfrost like ashes.

17  He casteth forth his hiice like morsels:

Who can stand before his icold?

18  kHe sendeth out his word, and melteth them:

He causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
