Psalm 113:1–118:29
1 †Praise ye the Lord.
aPraise, O ye abservants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord.
2 cBlessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and for evermore.
3 dFrom the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same
eThe Lord’s name is fto be praised.
4 The Lord is ghigh above all nations,
And hhis glory above the heavens.
5 iWho is like unto the Lord our God,
Who †dwelleth on high,
6 jWho humbleth himself to behold
The things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,
And lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 kThat he may lset him with princes,
Even with the princes of his people.
9 mHe maketh the barren woman †to keep house,
And to be a joyful mother of children.
nPraise ye the Lord.
1 When aIsrael went out of Egypt,
The house of Jacob bfrom a people of strange language;
2 Judah was chis sanctuary,
And Israel dhis dominion.
3 eThe sea saw it, and fled:
fJordan was driven back.
4 gThe mountains skipped like rams,
And the hlittle hills like lambs.
5 iWhat ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest?
Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 gYe mountains, that ye skipped like rams;
And ye hlittle hills, like lambs?
7 kTremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 Which turned lthe rock into ma standing water,
The nflint into a fountain of waters.
1 aNot unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But unto thy name bgive glory,
For thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
2 Wherefore should the heathen say,
cWhere is now their God?
3 dBut our God is in the heavens:
eHe hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4 fTheir idols are silver and gold,
gThe work of men’s hands.
5 They have mouths, hbut they speak not:
Eyes have they, ibut they see not:
6 kThey have ears, but they hear not:
Noses have they, but they smell not:
7 lThey have hands, but they handle not:
Feet have they, but they walk not:
Neither speak they through their throat.
8 mThey that make them are like unto them;
So is every one that trusteth in them.
9 nO Israel, otrust thou in the Lord:
pHe is their help and their qshield.
10 nO house of Aaron, otrust in the Lord:
pHe is their help and their qshield.
11 nrYe that fear the Lord, otrust in the Lord:
pHe is their help and their qshield.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us;
He will bless sthe house of Israel;
He will bless sthe house of Aaron.
13 He will bless ntthem that fear the Lord,
Both small †and great.
14 The Lord shall uincrease you more and more,
You and your children.
15 Ye are vblessed of the Lord
wWhich made heaven and earth.
16 xThe heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s:
But the earth hath he given to the children of men.
17 xxThe dead praise not the yLord,
Neither any that go down into zsilence.
18 aBut we will bless the yLord
From this time forth and for evermore.
bPraise the Lord.
1 I alove the Lord, because bhe hath heard
bbMy voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath cinclined his ear unto me,
Therefore will I call upon him †as long as I live.
3 dThe sorrows of death ecompassed me,
And the fpains of hell †gat hold upon me:
I found trouble and sorrow.
4 gThen called I upon the name of the Lord;
O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 hGracious is the Lord, and irighteous;
Yea, our God is hmerciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the ksimple:
lI was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy mrest, O my soul;
For the Lord nhath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 oFor thou hast delivered my soul from death,
Mine eyes from tears,
And omy feet from falling.
pIn the land of the living.
10 qI believed, therefore have I spoken:
I was greatly afflicted:
11 rI said in my haste,
sAll men are liars.
12 What shall I trender unto the Lord
For all his tbenefits toward me?
13 I will take the ucup of salvation,
xAnd call upon the name of the Lord.
14 yI will pay my vows unto the Lord
Now in the presence of all his people.
15 zPrecious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of his asaints.
16 O Lord, truly bI am thy servant;
I am thy servant, and cthe son of thine handmaid:
Thou hast dloosed my bonds.
17 I will eoffer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
fAnd will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 gI will pay my vows unto the Lord
Now in the presence of all his people,
19 In the hcourts of the Lord’s house,
In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
iPraise ye the Lord.
1 O apraise the Lord, all ye nations:
Praise him, all ye people.
2 For bhis merciful kindness is great toward us:
And cthe truth of the Lord endureth for ever.
dPraise ye the Lord.
1 aO give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:
Because his mercy endureth for ever.
2 bLet Israel now say,
That his mercy endureth for ever.
3 bLet the house of Aaron now say,
That his mercy endureth for ever.
4 bLet them now cthat fear the Lord say,
That his mercy endureth for ever.
5 dI called upon the eLord †in fdistress:
The eLord answered me, and gset me in ha large place.
6 iThe Lord is †on my side; jI will not fear:
What can man do unto me?
7 kThe Lord taketh my part with them that help me:
Therefore shall lI see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to mtrust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to mtrust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in nprinces.
10 All nations ocompassed me about:
But in the name of the Lord will I †destroy them.
11 oThey compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about:
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
12 oThey compassed me about plike bees;
They are quenched qas the fire of thorns:
For in the name of the Lord I will †destroy them.
13 Thou hast rthrust sore at me that I might fall:
But the Lord helped me.
14 The seLord is my strength and song,
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous:
uThe right hand of the Lord vdoeth valiantly.
16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted:
uThe right hand of the Lord vdoeth valiantly.
17 I wshall not die, but live,
And xdeclare the works of the eLord.
18 The eLord hath ychastened me sore:
But he hath not given me over unto death.
19 zOpen to me the gates of righteousness:
I will go into them, and I will praise the eLord:
aInto which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise thee: for bthou hast heard me,
cAnd art become my salvation.
22 dThe stone which the builders refused
Is become ethe head stone of the corner.
23 †This is the Lord’s doing;
It is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 fSave now, I beseech thee, O Lord:
O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 gBlessed be hhe that cometh iin the name of the Lord:
kWe have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
27 God is the Lord, which hath lshewed us light:
Bind the msacrifice with cords,
Even unto nthe horns of the altar.
28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee:
Thou art my God, I will oexalt thee.
29 pO give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:
For his mercy endureth for ever.
