Proverbs 26:25–26

25 Though their speech is charming, do not believe them,

for seven abominations fill their hearts.

26 Their malice may be concealed by deception,

but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

25 when he speaks graciously, believe him not,

for there are seven abominations in his heart;

26 though his hatred be covered with deception,

his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

25 They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them.

Their hearts are full of many evils.

26 While their hatred may be concealed by trickery,

their wrongdoing will be exposed in public.

25 When he speaks kindly, do not believe him,

For there are seven abominations in his heart;

26 Though his hatred is covered by deceit,

His wickedness will be revealed before the assembly.

25 People’s words may be kind, but don’t believe them,

because their minds are full of evil thoughts.

26 Lies can hide hate,

but the evil will be plain to everyone.

25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not;

For there are seven abominations in his heart:

26 Though his hatred cover itself with guile,

His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly.

25 when his voice is gracious, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart. 26 Though his hatred is covered by dissimulation, his wickedness shall be made manifest in the congregation.

25 When he talks charmingly, do not trust him 

because of the seven disgusting things in his heart. 

26 His hatred is deceitfully hidden, 

but his wickedness will be revealed to the community. 

25 When he speaks graciously, don’t believe him,

for there are seven abominations in his heart.

26 Though his hatred is concealed by deception,

his evil will be revealed in the assembly.

25 when an enemy speaks graciously, do not believe it,

for there are seven abominations concealed within;

26 though hatred is covered with guile,

the enemy’s wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

25 When he makes his voice gracious, do not believe him,

for seven abominations are in his heart.

26 Though hatred is covered with guile,

its evil will be exposed in the assembly.

25 What a person says can be charming. But don’t believe him.

Seven things that God hates can fill that person’s heart.

26 Hatred can be hidden by lies.

But what is evil will be shown to everyone.
