Numbers 15:29–32

29 One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner residing among you.

30 “ ‘But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or foreigner, blasphemes the Lord and must be cut off from the people of Israel. 31 Because they have despised the Lord’s word and broken his commands, they must surely be cut off; their guilt remains on them.’ ”

32 While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.

29 You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the people of Israel and for the stranger who sojourns among them. 30 But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.”

32 While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

29 These same instructions apply both to native-born Israelites and to the foreigners living among you.

30 “But those who brazenly violate the Lord’s will, whether native-born Israelites or foreigners, have blasphemed the Lord, and they must be cut off from the community. 31 Since they have treated the Lord’s word with contempt and deliberately disobeyed his command, they must be completely cut off and suffer the punishment for their guilt.”

32 One day while the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they discovered a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.

30 ‘But the person who does anything presumptuously, whether he is native-born or a stranger, that one brings reproach on the Lord, and he shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he has despised the word of the Lord, and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt shall be upon him.’ ”

32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

29 The same teaching is for everyone who sins accidentally—for those born Israelites and for foreigners living among you.

30 “ ‘But anyone who sins on purpose is against the Lord and must be cut off from the people, whether it is someone born among you or a foreigner. 31 That person has turned against the Lord’s word and has not obeyed his commands. Such a person must surely be cut off from the others. He is guilty.’ ”

32 When the Israelites were still in the desert, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.

29 Ye shall have one law for him that doeth aught unwittingly, for him that is home-born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them. 30 But the soul that doeth aught with a high hand, whether he be home-born or a sojourner, the same blasphemeth Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he hath despised the word of Jehovah, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks upon the sabbath day.

29 For him that is born in the land among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them—there shall be one law for you, for him who doeth anything through inadvertence.

30 But the soul that doeth ought with a high hand, whether born in the land, or a stranger, he reproacheth Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 For he hath despised the word of Jehovah, and hath broken his commandment: that soul shall surely be cut off; his iniquity is upon him. 32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day.

29 You must give the same instructions to everyone who does something wrong unintentionally, whether they are native-born Israelites or not. 

30 “But any native-born Israelite or foreigner who deliberately does something wrong insults the Lord and must be excluded from the people. 31 That person has despised the Lord’s word and broken the Lord’s command. He must be excluded completely. He remains guilty.” 

32 While the Israelites were in the desert, they found a man gathering wood on the day of rest—a holy day.

29 You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or a foreigner who lives among you.

30 “But the person who acts defiantly, whether native or foreign resident, blasphemes the Lord. That person is to be cut off from his people. 31 He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the Lord’s word and broken His command; his guilt remains on him.”

32 While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.

29 For both the native among the Israelites and the alien residing among you, you shall have the same law for anyone who acts in error. 30 But whoever acts high-handedly, whether native-born or an alien, affronts the Lord and shall be cut off from among the people. 31 Because of having despised the word of the Lord and broken his commandment, such a person shall be utterly cut off and bear the guilt.”

32 When the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

29 For the native among the Israelites and the alien that dwells in their midst, there will be one law for anyone who commits an unintentional wrong. 30 But the one who acts presumptuously from among the native or alien blasphemes against Yahweh, and that person must be cut off from the midst of the people. 31 Because he despised the word of Yahweh and broke his command, that person will be surely cut off and bear the guilt.’ ”

32 When the Israelites were in the desert, they found a man who was gathering wood on the day of the Sabbath.

29 “ ‘The same law applies to everyone who sins without meaning to. It does not matter whether he is an Israelite or an outsider.

30 “ ‘But suppose someone sins on purpose. It does not matter whether he is an Israelite or an outsider. He speaks evil things against the Lord. He must be cut off from his people. 31 He has made fun of what the Lord has said. He has broken the Lord’s commands. He must certainly be cut off. He is still guilty.’ ”

32 The people of Israel were in the desert. One Sabbath day, people saw a man gathering wood.

30 ‘But the person who does anything defiantly, whether he is native or an alien, that one is blaspheming the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from among his people.

31 ‘Because he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’ ”

32 Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the sabbath day.
