Leviticus 16:29–30
29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that hin the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye ishall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: 30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to kcleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

29 “This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work—whether native-born or a foreigner residing among you—30 because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you.
