Jeremiah 33:9–11
9 And qit shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall rfear and stremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it. 10 Thus saith the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, twhich ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even uin the cities of Judah, uand in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and vwithout inhabitant, and without beast, 11 wThe voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, xPraise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring ythe sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. 9 Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’
10 “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying,
“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,
for the Lord is good;
his love endures forever.”
For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.

10 “This is what the Lord says: You have said, ‘This is a desolate land where people and animals have all disappeared.’ Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns, there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing,
‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies,
for the Lord is good.
His faithful love endures forever!’
For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord.

10 “You are saying, ‘Our country is an empty desert, without people or animals.’ But this is what the Lord says: It is now quiet in the streets of Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, without people or animals, but it will be noisy there soon! 11 There will be sounds of joy and gladness and the happy sounds of brides and bridegrooms. There will be the sounds of people bringing to the Temple of the Lord their offerings of thanks to the Lord. They will say,
‘Praise the Lord All-Powerful,
because the Lord is good!
His love continues forever!’
They will say this because I will again do good things for Judah, as I did in the beginning,” says the Lord.

No people or animals live there. But once again you will hear 11 the sounds of joy and happiness and the sounds of brides and grooms. ‘Give thanks to the Lord of Armies because the Lord is good,
because his mercy endures forever.’

So they do not have any people or animals living in them. But happy sounds will be heard there once more. 11 They will be the sounds of joy and gladness. The voices of brides and grooms will fill the streets.
“And the voices of those who bring thank offerings to my house will be heard there. They will say,
‘Give thanks to the Lord who rules over all,
because he is good.
