2 “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem:

“This is what the Lord says:

“ ‘I remember the devotion of your youth,

how as a bride you loved me

and followed me through the wilderness,

through a land not sown.

3 Israel was holy to the Lord,

the firstfruits of his harvest;

all who devoured her were held guilty,

and disaster overtook them,’ ”

declares the Lord.

2 “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord,

“I remember the devotion of your youth,

your love as a bride,

how you followed me in the wilderness,

in a land not sown.

3 Israel was holy to the Lord,

the firstfruits of his harvest.

All who ate of it incurred guilt;

disaster came upon them,

declares the Lord.”

2 “Go and shout this message to Jerusalem. This is what the Lord says:

“I remember how eager you were to please me

as a young bride long ago,

how you loved me and followed me

even through the barren wilderness.

3 In those days Israel was holy to the Lord,

the first of his children.

All who harmed his people were declared guilty,

and disaster fell on them.

I, the Lord, have spoken!”

2 “Go and cry in the hearing of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord:

“I remember you,

The kindness of your youth,

The love of your betrothal,

When you went after Me in the wilderness,

In a land not sown.

3 Israel was holiness to the Lord,

The firstfruits of His increase.

All that devour him will offend;

Disaster will come upon them,” says the Lord.’ ”

2 “Go and speak to the people of Jerusalem, saying: This is what the Lord says:

‘I remember how faithful you were to me when you were a young nation.

You loved me like a young bride.

You followed me through the desert,

a land that had never been planted.

3 The people of Israel were holy to the Lord,

like the first fruits from his harvest.

Those who tried to hurt Israel were judged guilty.

Disasters struck them,’ ” says the Lord.

2 Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, I remember for thee the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals; how thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. 3 Israel was holiness unto Jehovah, the first-fruits of his increase: all that devour him shall be held guilty; evil shall come upon them, saith Jehovah.

into a land that couldn’t be farmed. 

3 Israel was set apart for the Lord. 

It was the best part of the harvest. 

All who devoured it became guilty, 

and disaster struck them,’ ” declares the Lord. 

2 “Go and announce directly to Jerusalem that this is what the Lord says:

I remember the loyalty of your youth,

your love as a bride—

how you followed Me in the wilderness,

in a land not sown.

3 Israel was holy to the Lord,

the firstfruits of His harvest.

All who ate of it found themselves guilty;

disaster came on them.”

This is the Lord’s declaration.

the first fruit of his produce.

All those who ate it were held guilty;

disaster came to them,” declares Yahweh.’ ”

2 “Go. Announce my message to the people in Jerusalem. I want everyone to hear it. Tell them,

“ ‘I remember how faithful you were to me when you were young.

You loved me as if you were my bride.

You followed me through the desert.

Nothing had been planted there.

3 Your people were holy to me.

They were the first share of my harvest.

All those who destroyed them were held guilty.

And trouble came to their enemies,’ ”

announces the Lord.

“I remember concerning you the devotion of your youth,

The love of your betrothals,

Your following after Me in the wilderness,

Through a land not sown.

3 “Israel was holy to the Lord,

Evil came upon them,” declares the Lord.’ ”
