Genesis 35:2–4
2 Then Jacob said unto his chousehold, and to all that were with him, Put away dthe strange gods that are among you, and ebe clean, and change your garments: 3 And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, fwho answered me in the day of my distress, gand was with me in the way which I went. 4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their hearrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under ithe oak which was by Shechem.

Genesis 35:2–4 — The New International Version (NIV)
2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes. 3 Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone.” 4 So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.
