Ezekiel 8:11–12

11 And there stood before them yseventy men of zthe ancients of the house of Israel, and ain the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of bShaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. 12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what zthe ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of chis imagery? for they say, deThe Lord seeth us not; dthe Lord hath forsaken the earth.

Ezekiel 8:11–12 — The New International Version (NIV)

11 In front of them stood seventy elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.

12 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’ ”
