Ezekiel 35:4–5

4 I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

5 “ ‘Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword at the time of their calamity, the time their punishment reached its climax,

4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the Lord. 5 Because you cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment,

4 I will demolish your cities

and make you desolate.

Then you will know that I am the Lord.

5 “Your eternal hatred for the people of Israel led you to butcher them when they were helpless, when I had already punished them for all their sins.

4 I shall lay your cities waste,

And you shall be desolate.

Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

5 “Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end,

4 I will destroy your cities, and you will become empty. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

5 “ ‘You have always been an enemy of Israel. You let them be defeated in war when they were in trouble at the time of their final punishment.

4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual enmity, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;

4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be a desolation: and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword, in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;

4 I will turn your cities into ruins, 

and you will become a wasteland. 

Then you will know that I am the Lord. 

5 “ ‘You have always been an enemy of Israel. 

You deserted the people of Israel in battle 

when they were in trouble during their final punishment. 

4 I will turn your cities into ruins,

and you will become a desolation.

Then you will know that I am Yahweh.

5 “Because you maintained an ancient hatred and handed over the Israelites to the power of the sword in the time of their disaster, the time of final punishment,

4 I lay your towns in ruins;

you shall become a desolation,

and you shall know that I am the Lord.

5 Because you cherished an ancient enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment,

4 Your cities I will make ruins, and you will be a desolation, and then you will know that I am Yahweh, 5 because there has been to you an ancient hostility, and you handed over the Israelites to the power of the sword at the time of their disaster, at the time of their final punishment.

4 I will destroy your towns. Your land will become empty. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

5 “ ‘ “People of Edom, you have been Israel’s enemies for a long time. You let many Israelites be killed with swords when they were in great trouble. At that time I used Nebuchadnezzar to punish them and destroy them completely.

4 “I will lay waste your cities

And you will become a desolation.

Then you will know that I am the Lord.

5 “Because you have had everlasting enmity and have delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the punishment of the end,
