Exodus 17:5–6

And the Lord said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith gthou smotest hthe river, take in thine hand, and go. iBehold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Exodus 17:5–6 — The New International Version (NIV)

The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
