Revelation 16–18
16 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying ato the seven angels, Go your ways, and bpour out the vials cof the wrath of God upon the earth. 2 And the first went, and poured out his vial dupon the earth; and there fell a noisome and egrievous efsore upon the men gwhich had the mark of the beast, and upon them hwhich worshipped his image. 3 And the second angel poured out his vial iupon the sea; and iit became as the blood of a dead man: and kevery living soul died in the sea. 4 And the third angel poured out his vial lupon the rivers and fountains of waters; and mthey became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, nThou art righteous, O Lord, owhich art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 6 For pthey have shed the blood of qsaints and prophets, and rthou hast given them blood to drink; for sthey are worthy. 7 And tI heard another out of uthe altar say, Even so, vLord God wAlmighty, xtrue and nrighteous are thy judgments. 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial yupon the sun; and zpower was given unto him ato scorch men with fire. 9 And men were ||bscorched with great heat, and cblasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and dthey repented not eto give him glory. 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon fthe seat of the beast; and ghis kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 11 And cblasphemed hthe God of heaven because of their pains and itheir sores, and drepented not of their deeds. 12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon jthe great river Euphrates; and kthe water thereof was dried up, that lthe way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three munclean spirits like nfrogs come out of the mouth of othe dragon, and out of the mouth of pthe beast, and out of the mouth of qsthe false prophet. 14 For they are rthe spirits of devils, stworking miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of uthe whole world, vto gather them to the battle of wthat great day of God xAlmighty. 15 Behold, I come yas a thief. zBlessed is he that zwatcheth, and akeepeth his garments, blest he walk naked, and bcthey see dhis shame. 16 And ehe gathered them together into a place called fin the Hebrew tongue gArmageddon. 17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into hthe air; and ithere came a great voice kout of the temple of heaven, from lthe throne, saying, mIt is done. 18 And nthere were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and othere was a great earthquake, psuch as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 19 And qthe great city was divided rinto three parts, and the cities of sthe nations fell: and qgreat Babylon tcame in remembrance before God, uto give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20 And vevery island fled away, and vthe mountains were not found. 21 And there fell upon men a wgreat hail out of heaven, every stone xabout the weight of a talent: and men yblasphemed God because of zthe plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
17 And there came aone of aathe seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, aCome hither; bI will shew unto thee the judgment of cthe great whore dthat sitteth upon many waters: 2 eWith whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and fthe inhabitants of the earth ghave been hmade drunk with the wine of her fornication. 3 So he carried me away iin the spirit kinto the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a lscarlet coloured beast, full of mnames of blasphemy, mnhaving seven heads and moten horns. 4 And the woman was parrayed in qpurple and lscarlet colour, and †decked rwith gold and rprecious stones and spearls, thaving a golden cup in her hand gfull of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, uMYSTERY, gBABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF ||HARLOTS AND vABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw wthe woman hdrunken xwith the blood of the saints, and with the blood of ythe martyrs zof Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee uthe mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath nthe seven heads and oten horns. 8 The beast that thou sawest awas, and is not; and bshall ascend out of cthe bottomless pit, and dgo into perdition: and ethey that dwell on the earth fshall wonder, gwhose names were not written in the book of life gfrom the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 And hhere is the mind which hath wisdom. iThe seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And athe beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and dgoeth into perdition. 12 And ikthe ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings lone hour with the beast. 13 These mhave one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 14 These nshall make war with the Lamb, and othe Lamb shall overcome them: for he is pqLord of lords, and prKing of kings: and rrthey that are with him are stcalled, and suchosen, and vfaithful. 15 And he saith unto me, wThe waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are xpeoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16 And ythe ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, zthese shall hate the whore, and ashall make her desolate and bnaked, and bbshall eat her flesh, and cburn her with fire. 17 For God hath dput in their hearts to fulfil his will, and mto agree, and egive their kingdom unto the beast, funtil the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is gthat great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
18 And after these things I saw aanother angel come down from heaven, having great power; and bthe earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried cmightily with a strong voice, saying, dBabylon the great is fallen, is fallen, And is become ethe habitation of devils, And the hold of fevery foul spirit, And a cage of gevery unclean and hateful bird. 3 For hall nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, And ithe kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, And kthe merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the ||abundance of her ldelicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, mCome out of her, my people, That ye be not partakers of her sins, And that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 nFor her sins have reached unto heaven, And oGod hath remembered her iniquities. 6 pReward her even as she rewarded you, And double unto her double according to her works: qIn the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 rHow much she hath glorified herself, and llived deliciously, So much torment and sorrow give her: For sshe saith in her heart, tI sit a queen, And tam no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 uTherefore shall her plagues come vin one day, Death, and mourning, and famine; And wshe shall be utterly burned with fire: For xstrong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And iythe kings of the earth, iwho have committed fornication and llived deliciously with her, yzShall bewail her, and lament for her, aWhen they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, bSaying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For cin one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And dthe merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; eFor no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12 The merchandise fof gold, and silver, And fprecious stones, and fof pearls, And gfine linen, and fpurple, and silk, and fscarlet, And all ||thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, And all manner vessels of most precious wood, And of brass, and iron, and hmarble, 13 And icinnamon, and odours, And ointments, and ifrankincense, And wine, and oil, And kfine flour, and wheat, And beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, And ||mslaves, and nsouls of men. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, And all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, And thou shalt find them no more at all. 15 eThe merchants of these things, owhich were made rich by her, Shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, Weeping and wailing, 16 And saying, bAlas, alas, that great city, pThat was clothed in gfine linen, and fpurple, and fscarlet, And decked fwith gold, and precious stones, and fpearls! 17 For cin one hour so great riches qis come to nought. And every rshipmaster, and all the company in ships, And sailors, and as many as trade by sea, Stood afar off, 18 And cried aWhen they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, sWhat city is like unto this great city! 19 And tthey cast dust on their heads, And cried, uweeping and wailing, saying, bAlas, alas, that great city, oWherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! For cin one hour qis she made desolate. 20 vRejoice over her, thou heaven, And ye holy wapostles and prophets; For xGod hath avenged you on her. 21 And a mighty angel ytook up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, zThus with violence shall bthat great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. 22 And abthe voice of harpers, and cmusicians, and of dpipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; And no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; And aethe sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; 23 And athe light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; And afthe voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: For gthy merchants were hthe great men of the earth; For i…
