Joshua 11:10–14:15

10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms. 11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire. 12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, tas Moses the servant of the Lord commanded. 13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn. 14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe. 15 uAs the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so vdid Moses command Joshua, and wso did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses. 16 *So Joshua took all that land, xthe hills, and all the south country, yand all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and zthe mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same; 17 aEven from ||the mount Halak, that goeth up to bSeir, even unto cBaal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under dmount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. 18 Joshua made war ea long time with all those kings. 19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save fthe Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle. 20 For git was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, has the Lord commanded Moses. 21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off ithe Anakims from the mountains, from kHebron, from lDebir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. 22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in mGaza, in nGath, and in oAshdod, there remained. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, paccording to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and qJoshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their rdivisions by their tribes. sAnd the land rested from war.

12 Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, afrom the river Arnon bunto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east: cSihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from dAroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river eJabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; And ffrom the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to gBeth-jeshimoth; and from ||the south, under ||Ashdoth-pisgah: And hthe coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of ithe remnant of the giants, jthat dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, And reigned in kmount Hermon, and in lSalcah, and in all Bashan, munto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. nThem did Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel smite: and oMoses the servant of the Lord gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

And these are the kings of the country pwhich Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to pSeir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their qdivisions; rIn the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; sthe Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: tThe king of Jericho, one; uthe king of Ai, which is beside Beth-el, one; 10 xThe king of Jerusalem, one; xthe king of Hebron, one; 11 xThe king of Jarmuth, one; xthe king of Lachish, one; 12 xThe king of Eglon, one; ythe king of Gezer, one; 13 zThe king of Debir, one; athe king of Geder, one; 14 bThe king of Hormah, one; cthe king of Arad, one; 15 dThe king of Libnah, one; ethe king of Adullam, one; 16 fThe king of Makkedah, one; gthe king of Beth-el, one; 17 hThe king of Tappuah, one; ithe king of Hepher, one; 18 kThe king of Aphek, one; the king of ||Lasharon, one; 19 lThe king of Madon, one; lthe king of Hazor, one; 20 The king of mShimron-meron, one; lthe king of Achshaph, one; 21 nThe king of Taanach, one; nthe king of Megiddo, one; 22 oThe king of Kedesh, one; pthe king of Jokneam of qCarmel, one; 23 rThe king of Dor in the coast of Dor, one; the king of sthe nations of tGilgal, one; 24 uThe king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.

13 Now Joshua awas old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed. bThis is the land that yet remaineth: all cthe borders of the Philistines, and all dGeshuri, From eSihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: ffive lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the gEkronites; also hthe Avites: From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and ||Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, iunto Aphek, to the borders of jthe Amorites: And the land of kthe Giblites, and ||all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, lfrom Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto mthe entering into Hamath. All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto nMisrephoth-maim, and all the Sidonians, othem will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only pdivide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee. Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh, With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, qwhich Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the Lord gave them; rFrom Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all sthe plain of tMedeba unto tDibon; 10 And uall the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon; 11 And wGilead, and the border of xthe Geshurites and Maachathites, and all ymount Hermon, and all Bashan unto wSalcah; 12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in zAshtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of athe remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out. 13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not bthe Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day. 14 cOnly unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, das he said unto them.

15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families. 16 And their coast was efrom Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all ethe plain by eMedeba; 17 Heshbon, and all her cities that are in ethe plain; eDibon, and ||Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon, 18 And fJahazah, and gKedemoth, and gMephaath, 19 And hKirjathaim, and iSibmah, and Zareth-shahar in the mount of the valley, 20 And kBeth-peor, and ||Ashdoth-pisgah, and lBeth-jeshimoth, 21 And mall the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, nwhom Moses smote owith the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were pdukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country. 22 oBalaam also the son of Beor, the ||soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them. 23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families. 25 And their coast was qJazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and rhalf the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before sRabbah; 26 And from Heshbon unto tRamath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from uMahanaim unto the border of wDebir; 27 And in the valley, xBeth-aram, and yBeth-nimrah, and zSuccoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of aChinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward. 28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families. 30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and ball the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities: 31 And half Gilead, and cAshtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of dMachir by their families. 32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance ein the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward. 33 fBut unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, gas he said unto them.

14 And these are the countries which the children of Israel …
