Isaiah 15:8–9

8 Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab;

their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim,

their lamentation as far as Beer Elim.

9 The waters of Dimon are full of blood,

but I will bring still more upon Dimon—

a lion upon the fugitives of Moab

and upon those who remain in the land.

8 For a cry has gone

around the land of Moab;

her wailing reaches to Eglaim;

her wailing reaches to Beer-elim.

9 For the waters of Dibon are full of blood;

for I will bring upon Dibon even more,

a lion for those of Moab who escape,

for the remnant of the land.

8 A cry of distress echoes through the land of Moab

from one end to the other—

from Eglaim to Beer-elim.

9 The stream near Dibon runs red with blood,

but I am still not finished with Dibon!

Lions will hunt down the survivors—

both those who try to escape

and those who remain behind.

8 For the cry has gone all around the borders of Moab,

Its wailing to Eglaim

And its wailing to Beer Elim.

9 For the waters of Dimon will be full of blood;

Because I will bring more upon Dimon,

Lions upon him who escapes from Moab,

And on the remnant of the land.”

8 Crying is heard everywhere in Moab.

Their crying is heard as far away as the city Eglaim;

it is heard as far away as Beer Elim.

9 The water of the city Dibon is full of blood,

and I, the Lord, will bring even more troubles to Dibon.

A few people living in Moab have escaped the enemy,

but I will send lions to kill them.

8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the wailing thereof unto Eglaim, and the wailing thereof unto Beer-elim. 9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood; for I will bring yet more upon Dimon, a lion upon them of Moab that escape, and upon the remnant of the land.

8 For the cry goeth round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beer-elim. 9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood, for I will lay yet more upon Dimon: a lion upon them that are escaped of Moab, and upon that which remaineth of the land.

8 Cries for help echo throughout the land of Moab. 

Their wailing echoes as far as Eglaim. 

Their wailing echoes as far as Beer Elim. 

9 The water in Dimon is red with blood, 

yet I will bring even more on Dimon. 

A lion will attack the fugitives from Moab 

and the survivors from Adamah.

8 For their cry echoes

throughout the territory of Moab.

Their wailing reaches Eglaim;

their wailing reaches Beer-elim.

9 The waters of Dibon are full of blood,

but I will bring on Dibon even more than this—

a lion for those who escape from Moab,

and for the survivors in the land.

8 For a cry has gone

around the land of Moab;

the wailing reaches to Eglaim;

the wailing reaches to Beer-elim.

9 For the waters of Dibon are full of blood,

yet I will bring upon Dibon even more—

a lion for those of Moab who escape,

for the remnant of the land.

8 For a cry for help has encircled the territory of Moab,

her wailing is heard as far as Eglaim,

and her wailing as far as Beer Elim.

9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood;

but I will place added things upon Dimon:

a lion for the survivors of Moab

and for the remnant of the land.

8 Their loud cries echo along the border of Moab.

They reach as far as Eglaim.

Their songs of sadness reach all the way to Beer Elim.

9 The waters of the city of Dimon are full of blood.

But the Lord will bring even more trouble on Dimon.

He will bring lions against those who run away from Moab.

They will also attack those who remain in the land.

8 For the cry of distress has gone around the territory of Moab,

Its wail goes as far as Eglaim and its wailing even to Beer-elim.

9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood;

Surely I will bring added woes upon Dimon,

A lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.
