Ezekiel 28:11–31:18

11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 12 Son of man, utake up a lamentation upon athe king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up vthe sum, hfull of wisdom, and wperfect in beauty. 13 Thou hast been in xEden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, ythe ||sardius, yztopaz, and athe diamond, bthe ||beryl, cthe onyx, and dthe jasper, ethe sapphire, fthe ||emerald, and gthe carbuncle, and cgold: hthe workmanship of thy itabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in kthe day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed lcherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon mthe holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of nthe stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from kthe day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of othy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of mthe mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, lO covering cherub, from the midst of nthe stones of fire. 17 pThine heart was lifted up because of qthy beauty, thou hast corrupted qthy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 rThou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of othy traffick; therefore swill I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the people tshall be astonished at thee: uthou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

20 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, vset thy face wagainst Zidon, and vprophesy against it, 22 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; xBehold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and xxI will be glorified in the midst of thee: and ythey shall know that I am the Lord, yywhen I shall have executed judgments in her, zand shall be sanctified in her. 23 For I will send into her apestilence, and ablood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; band they shall know that I am the Lord. 24 And cthere shall be no more da pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn eof all that are round about them, fthat despised them; band they shall know that I am the Lord God. 25 Thus saith the Lord God; gWhen I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and bgshall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then hshall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. 26 And ithey shall dwell ||safely therein, and shall kbuild houses, and kplant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, bwhen I have executed judgments fupon all those that ||despise them round about them; band they shall know that I am the Lord their God.

29 *In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, aset thy face against bPharaoh king of Egypt, and aprophesy against him, and cagainst all Egypt: Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; dBehold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great efdragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, gwhich hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. But hI will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy iscales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy iscales. And I will leave thee jthrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; kthou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee lfor meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven. And all the inhabitants of Egypt mshall know that I am the Lord, because they have been na staff of reed to the house of Israel. oWhen they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and rend all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and pmadest all their loins to be at a stand. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; qBehold, I will bring a sword upon thee, qand cut off man and beast out of thee. And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; mand they shall know that I am the Lord: gbecause he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it. 10 dBehold, therefore I am against thee, and ragainst thy rivers, and rI will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, ||tfrom the tower of Syene even unto the border of uEthiopia. 11 vNo foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years. 12 And I will make the land of Egypt wdesolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, wand her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: xand I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. 13 Yet thus saith the Lord God; At the end of forty years ywill I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered: 14 And zI will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of aPathros, into the land of their ||habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom. 15 It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; bneither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. 16 And it shall be no more cthe confidence of the house of Israel, dwhich bringeth their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but ethey shall know that I am the Lord God.

17 *And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 18 Son of man, fNebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gcaused his army to serve a great service hagainst Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was ipeeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it: 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I jwill give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and khe shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. 20 I have given him the land of Egypt ||for his labour wherewith he served against it, because gthey wrought for me, saith the Lord God. 21 In that day lwill I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee mthe opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and ethey shall know that I am the Lord.

30 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord God; aHowl ye, Woe worth the day! For bthe day is near, even abdthe day of the Lord is near, ca cloudy day; dit shall be the time of the heathen. And ethe sword shall come upon Egypt, and fgreat ||pain shall be in gEthiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and hthey shall take away her multitude, and iher foundations shall be broken down. gkEthiopia, and klLibya, and klLydia, and all mthe mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. Thus saith the Lord; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and nthe pride of her power shall come down: ||ofrom the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord God. And they shall be pdesolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, pand her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. qAnd they shall know that I am the Lord, rwhen I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all sher helpers shall be destroyed. In that day tshall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless gEthiopians afraid, and fgreat pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, eit cometh. 10 Thus saith the Lord God; uI will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. 11 He and his people with him, vthe terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and vthey shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. 12 And wI will make xthe rivers ydry, and usell the land into the hand of zthe wicked: and xaI will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of bstrangers: cI the Lord have spoken it. 13 Thus saith the Lord God; dI will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their eimages to cease out of fNoph; and gthere shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and hI will put a fear in the land of Egypt. 14 And I will make iPathros desolate, and kwill set fire in ||lZoan, and mwill execute judgments in nNo. 15 And I will pour my fury upon ||Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off othe multitude of nNo. 16 And kI will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and nNo shall be rent asunder, and fNoph pshall have distresses daily. 17 The young men of ||qAven and of ||Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity. 18 At rTehaphnehes also the day shall be ||darkened, swhen I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and tthe pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19 Thus mwill I execute judgments in Egypt: uand they shall know that I am the Lord.

20 *And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, vI have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up wto be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. 22 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; xBehold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and ywill break his arms, the strong, and that
