Ephesians 5:1–14
aBe ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And bwalk in love, cas Christ also hath loved us, and dhath given himself for us ean offering and a sacrifice to God for fa sweetsmelling savour. 3 But ghfornication, and all guncleanness, or gcovetousness, let it not be once inamed among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither kfilthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, lwhich are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that mno whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, nwho is an idolater, ohath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 pLet no man deceive you with vain words: for qbecause of these things cometh rthe wrath of God upon sthe children of ||disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore tpartakers with them. 8 For uye were ssometimes darkness, but wnow are ye light in the Lord: xwalk as ychildren of light: 9 (For zthe fruit of the Spirit is in all agoodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 bProving what is cacceptable unto the Lord. 11 And dhave no fellowship with the eunfruitful fworks of darkness, but rather greprove them. 12 For hit is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are ||reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever idoth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore ||he saith, klAwake thou that sleepest, and marise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
