Deuteronomy 4:21–24

21 Furthermore fthe Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance: 22 But gI must die in this land, hI must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess ithat good land. 23 kTake heed unto yourselves, klest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, land make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee. 24 For mthe Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even na jealous God.

21 The Lord was angry with me because of you, and he solemnly swore that I would not cross the Jordan and enter the good land the Lord your God is giving you as your inheritance. 22 I will die in this land; I will not cross the Jordan; but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land. 23 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. 24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

And you are about to take that good land as your own.

23 Be careful. Don’t forget the covenant the Lord your God made with you. Don’t make for yourselves a statue of any god at all. He has told you not to. So don’t do it.

24 The Lord your God is like a fire that burns everything up. He’s a jealous God.
