Acts 15:40–16:2

40 And Paul chose dSilas, and departed, being erecommended by the brethren unto fthe grace of God. 41 And he went through gSyria and Cilicia, hconfirming the churches.

16 Then came he to aDerbe and aLystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named bTimotheus, cthe son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: Which dwas well reported of by the brethren that were at aLystra and eIconium.

Acts 15:40–16:2 — The New International Version (NIV)

40 but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. 41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where a disciple named Timothy lived, whose mother was Jewish and a believer but whose father was a Greek. The believers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him.
