Acts 13:40–41 — The New International Version (NIV)

40 Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you:

41 “ ‘Look, you scoffers,

wonder and perish,

for I am going to do something in your days

that you would never believe,

even if someone told you.’”

Acts 13:40–41 — English Standard Version (ESV)

40 Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:

41 “ ‘Look, you scoffers,

be astounded and perish;

for I am doing a work in your days,

a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — New Living Translation (NLT)

40 Be careful! Don’t let the prophets’ words apply to you. For they said,

41 ‘Look, you mockers,

be amazed and die!

For I am doing something in your own day,

something you wouldn’t believe

even if someone told you about it.’”

Acts 13:40–41 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

40 Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you:

41 Behold, you despisers,

Marvel and perish!

For I work a work in your days,

A work which you will by no means believe,

Though one were to declare it to you.’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — New Century Version (NCV)

40 Be careful! Don’t let what the prophets said happen to you:

41 ‘Listen, you people who doubt!

You can wonder, and then die.

I will do something in your lifetime

that you won’t believe even when you are told about it!’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — American Standard Version (ASV)

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken in the prophets:

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish;

For I work a work in your days,

A work which ye shall in no wise believe, if one declare it unto you.

Acts 13:40–41 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

40 See therefore that that which is spoken in the prophets do not come upon you, 41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which ye will in no wise believe if one declare it to you.

Acts 13:40–41 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

40 “Be careful, or what the prophets said may happen to you.

41 ‘Look, you mockers!

Be amazed and die!

I am going to do something in your days

that you would not believe even if it were reported to you!’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

40 So beware that what is said in the prophets does not happen to you:

41 Look, you scoffers,

marvel and vanish away,

because I am doing a work in your days,

a work that you will never believe,

even if someone were to explain it to you.

Acts 13:40–41 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

40 Beware, therefore, that what the prophets said does not happen to you:

41 ‘Look, you scoffers!

Be amazed and perish,

for in your days I am doing a work,

a work that you will never believe, even if someone tells you.’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

40 Watch out, therefore, lest what is stated by the prophets come upon you:

41 ‘Look, you scoffers,

and be astonished and perish!

For I am doing a work in your days,

a work that you would never believe

even if someone were to tell it to you.’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

40 Be careful! Don’t let what the prophets spoke about happen to you. They said,

41 “ ‘Look, you who make fun of the truth!

Wonder and die!

I am going to do something in your days

that you would never believe.

You wouldn’t believe it even if someone told you.’ ”

Acts 13:40–41 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

40 Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you:

41 Behold, you scoffers, and marvel, and perish;

For I am accomplishing a work in your days,

A work which you will never believe, though someone should describe it to you.’ ”
